Interested in the health of your local watershed? Want to find a great outdoor family activity?  Join our growing group of citizen scientists, the Water Warriors, to perform critical water tests.  We will provide you with the equipment and training to test the water, document the results and track the health of the water body over time.  Once you are trained, you can sign up to test at whichever location works for you and whenever you like during the first week of the month. To join the program, contact Lynn Shavinsky by email at engage@mrwc-fairfield.org.

How's My Waterway?

Check out the EPA website that provides general reference about the health of  local waterways. Water quality is monitored for physical, chemical and biological factors as they relate to swimming, aquatic life, safety of eating the fish and drinking the water. The monitoring results are assessed against state water quality standards approved by EPA.
