This collaborative project with the Warde Melville Heritage Organization in Stonybrook, NY and the Mill River Wetland Committee in Fairfield, CT aims to guide 6th grade students, living in Bridgeport, CT and Long Island, NY, in the discovery of the cultural, historical and ecological significance of their shared Long Island Sound habitat. Students conduct water quality testing and share their data and local habitat discoveries with their peers across the Sound.

Multiple in-class lessons culminate in 1 final “virtual summit” between both groups of students. The Summit is facilitated by WMHO with support from Mill River Wetland Committee.
